A team of Hospital da Luz collaborators has participated in the 18 th Corrida do Benfica – António Leitão, last Sundy, March 29, running for a cause: the kilometres covered were converted into a donation to Ajuda de Berço , a social solidarity association that takes in underprivileged and abandoned children or at risk. The result of this effort (€2,575 euros) will soon be delivered to the institution. Hospital da Luz was once again the SL Benfica official medical service provider in the events of this 18 th edition of Corrida do Benfica António Leitão, which included the Corrida da Pequenada on the day before (with the participation of 25 children of our hospital’s collaborators) and a novelty, the 1 st Pet Walk, where the owners had he opportunity to take a walk with their pets. The pleasant weather and sunshine helped the athletes, this year reaching a little over 15 thousand, an increase compared to 2025. This time, Hospital da Luz also provided at the start and finishing point a team of four health professionals to help and guide the warm-up and stretching exercises after the run. On the other hand, Hospital da Luz ensured the medical and clinical assistance to all events, through a team of 26 health professionals (physicians, nurses, and health technicians) supported by six ambulances and four bikes operated by trained professionals . Sport as means of inclusion is a major pillar of the social responsibility strategy at Hospital da Luz. Our participation in the running event Corrida do Benfica António Leitão and the support to Ajuda de Berço reinforce our commitment to promote health and safe sport and support the institutions in our community.
