“This hospital will help you grow professionally. We provide internal educational paths, with the possibility for you to choose your area of interest to start your career. We look for happy people”, highlighted Anisabel Soares, nursing director of Hospital da Luz Lisboa , during a special presentation session for recent graduates in Nursing, which took place last May 30. “Opt for working in an Hospital where you can be sure you'll be the best in your profession and where you think you'll be happy”, reinforced Pedro Líbano Monteiro, executive director of the Hospital, reminding that “it is not by chance” that this is the only hospital in Portugal in the ranking of Europe’s top 50 . Over the course of two hours, the about 50 recent graduates present in the session – coming from schools as diverse as Egas Moniz, Politécnico de Santarém, São Francisco das Misericórdias, Red Cross, Politécnico de Lisboa, Atlântica University, Catholic University and ESEL – had the opportunity to listen and place questions to the Hospital’s nursing director and coordinators, as well as to Human Resources representatives. Anisabel Soares, Ana Santos Pereira (Outpatient and Urgent Care), Teresa Afonso (Operating Theatre), Isabel Gonçalves (Maternity Unit and Paediatrics), and Nélia Trindade (Inpatient Service and Continuing and Palliative Care) explained the organization in their respective areas, and the usual path followed by new nurses, which includes necessarily an integration plan and training plans, with privileged access to the clinical Simulation Centre of Hospital da Luz. Paula Gomes and Margarida Cardoso presented an overview of Luz Saúde group and Hospital da Luz Network and listed the advantages and benefits of the professionals working within, namely a permanent employment contract and a health plan. Furthermore, mobility is possible within the Group, from unit to unit and even between departments. In the end of the session, two young nurses who started working at Hospital da Luz Lisboa about a year ago, gave their testimony: “I am happy and always come motivated to work. Here we have a supporting pillar and a team. You must invest on yourselves – and this hospital is incredible for that purpose”, declared Helena Santos. “I was in a session like this last year, then came to a job interview and got in right away. Integration lasted a month, I was very well received and looked after. Not everything is taught in school and training in here is important and complementary. Choose what you like, even though it may not be what you practice in the future. You can eventually change later”, further explained Mariana Canto. All those interested in applying to Hospital da Luz, recent graduates or experienced nurses, may submit their resume via site or via e-mail to recrutamentoeselecao@luzsaude.pt .
